Cambridge Creative Parents

Inclusive, baby- and child-friendly art and writing sessions for parents, focused on creativity rather than perfection.

What We Do

Through accessible creative activities, reflection and conversation, parents can reconnect with themselves, process the transition to parenthood and build supportive friendships, while their children play safely alongside them.

We tell participants: ‘You don't have to be an expert artist or writer, just brave enough to explore...’.

What We Learned from Our Pilot Year

I began Cambridge Creative Parents in 2024 leading a few small sessions with my own baby in a sling, before developing it into a regular programme (at least, in fits and starts) in 2025. I have gathered various forms of evidence which shows the sessions are fun, fulfilling, and promote wellbeing.

  • The key quote we use in sessions is: 'One must have chaos inside onself to give birth to a dancing star.' — Nietzsche

  • It can be busy and messy with your baby present, but you can still create!

  • And you don't have to be an expert artist or writer, just brave enough to explore...
