Wild Mothers
Wild Mothers is a wilderness therapeutic programme designed to support the mental health and wellbeing of mothers navigating the joys and challenges of the fourth trimester. Ellie and her colleague Dorka invite you to reconnect with nature in a peaceful and private woodland, spending mindful hours outdoors as part of a small group of mothers. The three hour sessions are designed to allow space for exploring your experience of matrescence through group discussions, gentle therapeutic invitations, grounding exercises and meditation.
Who is it for?
Wild Mothers is suitable for mothers with pre-mobile babies who are looking for a small, supportive and inclusive community where honest and raw discussion about the individual experiences of motherhood is encouraged. The sessions are designed in a way that enable mothers to come along with their babies but you are also welcome to attend without.

Reviews
“Ellie offered us a honest and compassionate space to go through our birth, she brought a huge amount of research, knowledge and diligence to our notes. It was really helpful having the blend of clinical expertise with holistic and mental health knowledge as everything is linked! I hadn’t realised how many loops of thoughts had been circling for me in the background since the birth and a lot of these have just stopped, I feel more at peace with the way it happened - and having someone present that can help you make sense of it is invaluable.”

“I did my birth afterthoughts with you at the Rosie after the birth of our eldest (it took me a while to clock it was you - I couldn’t quite pinpoint where I’d met you, then it twigged quite recently!). I just wanted to say how incredibly useful it was, how listened you made me feel, and how it gave me confidence to have our second baby. “

“It was really useful to go through the timeline of my labour together, as it had all felt like a blur at the time. Going through it and having access to clinical information, clarified by Ellie, helped me to build a more accurate narrative of how things unfolded. This also helped me to have more appreciation for the things that went well during my labour and the way my husband and I navigated it. This has left me feeling more empowered by the experience, which I hope will mean I can go into any future pregnancy and birth with more positivity and confidence.”
