Thanks so much for signing up for a Hot Seat. We’re really looking forward to it.

Please email ellie on ellie@midwifediaries.com with your supporting information for your application if you haven’t already.

It's a group session so the hot seat participants will be able to talk to us and as you saw during sign up, there will also be observer seat participants joining the call; they may or may not have their videos on but they will be muted.

We'll cover 5 interview questions, so one for each of the hot seat participants. 

You should expect some kind and respectful positive feedback from participants in the zoom chat (we can write to each other throughout). This session is about confidence and interview style.

It'd be great if you can offer some similar feedback to others.

We'll tackle an on-the-spot interview question together, though if you'd like us to concentrate on something in particular you can let Ellie jnow.

It would be great to see you on camera but this is of course up to you. Often seeing your body language will help us guide you on your interview skills.

You will need at least your microphone working so we can do your interview question.

You'll have a chance to ask any questions after we go through feedback for your question. 

If you need a break at any point just let us know, it absolutely doesn't matter if you're nervous or go blank - it's really common, this is perfect practice and we'll be talking about that at the beginning of the session. I won't let you sit in silence or anything of that nature, if you're feeling the pressure we should be talking that through and coming up with strategies for you.

We will be recording so you have a way of coming back to the feedback and seeing everyone else's, but afterwards, if you feel you'd like something cut from your part of the recording that's absolutely possible. You hold all the cards in that respect.

We won't be publishing the recording publicly, only for the people who signed up for the interview session and we'll leave it up for a month or so.
