TIME MANAGEMENT FOR STUDENT MIDWIVES
I’ve spent the last 6 months as a return to practice midwife which is a very similar experience to being a student. Alongside this, I’ve been running my business and writing a book. I’m pleased to say I got signed off with ‘outstanding’ and will soon be taking my post as a registered midwife.
This has been an excellent way of testing the Time Management for Student Midwives chapter of my book. To write this I reviewed lots of productivity and learning resources and research and then made a list of what worked and what didn’t in the context of midwifery.
Though midwifery is never easy there were plenty of excellent ideas that worked incredibly well.
In this hour-long Time Management Workshop we will:
Use self-efficacy theory to find way of managing everything you have to do, on your terms
Look at tools like 80:20 and work with a real student midwife to-do list
You’ll come away with strategies for when you’re really up against it and review the best of what I’ve learnt from my student midwife community
Overall this session is about building trust with yourself and helping you succeed in a way that feels right to you

This webinar is based on the 'Time Management for Student Midwives' chapter.
I think we overemphasize grit and underemphasize finding strategies that support who you are. There are lots of good ideas for productivity and I’ve asked a lot of student midwives how they manage their work. But this webinar is about the paradox of using ‘effective’ strategies that do work but won’t unless they’re right for you. And that’s okay.
