Moderation
Brilliant! We have a learning post going on!
Please remember we're here trying to mod in real-time, around other jobs.
We've run the community since 2014 and we've come to realise that social media is super hard to build on.
We'd like to remind you of our rules at the top of the page.
Some of the most important ones that come up during this kind of post are.
Be kind; we like to draw on Brené Brown’s ‘Stay awkward, brave and kind’ to describe the hard conversations we want to see here (currently we would also add ‘ceasefire now’ to Brown’s work as well).
Do not comment on an individual’s worthiness to practice midwifery. Our Facebook group is a pubic and fast-paced place, and we have never seen such a conversation have a positive effect so this is our rule.
Discussion about actions being damaging to vulnerable groups is something we welcome. Discussing the reasons an individual person is not a worthy human being is not.
Please listen to the mods and follow our rules, this is often about our mods' emotional wellbeing or time management. Just so you know, if you break the rules, we will need to mute you or block you, not something we like to do.
We regret we can't respond to all PMs.
We'd ask you to look through the rules again and be gentle with us as Facebook is a super hard platform for us to run our community on, but it's where everyone is, so we're trying as hard as we can.
If this post relates to allyship, please see our resources here.
Thank you for being here, being part of the midwifery world and taking part!
