INTENSIVE PREPARATION MULTIPLE MINI INTERVIEW WORKSHOP - 13/12/20 11am
This Multiple Mini Interview session offers in-depth support for your midwifery knowledge, confidence and ability to answer MMI questions, which can be a little tricky
Tomorrow's Multiple Mini Interview session is at 11am.
I've checked my list and no-one has signed up for for a Hot Seat. So I think it's best I take this option down and we can do a different type of prep.
This is the first time I've run such a session with MMIs (has anyone else got experience with first times going a bit wrong?!) and I think this may be an indication of how everyone's feeling about the challenge of this type of interview.
Here's my take:
MMIs are great fun once you get into the swing of them, they're scenario questions and usually story-based. Plenty of ways to feel confident in what you're saying. Have you ever comforted a friend who's in a tricky spot, solved a difficult social problem or argued on behalf of someone's rights?
If you've done any of those things, you have more than enough life experience to tackle an MMI.
All you need to do is work out how to bring that forward on the day. It's much more to do with the confidence to express your opinions than anything else.
I'm sorry for the change of plan but with your permission, I'll run the session, but in the format of last years.
This means I'll set the questions out loud as part of my time with you and then I'll give you time to answer.
You can have a practice in real-time if you'd like, but with your mic off, so no-one can hear.
Or you can wait and have a listen to my ideas and feedback on each question.
And we can do some strategy and I'll answer any and all questions that you have. My way of making it up to you that we don't have the live coaching.
Also, as an observer, it would be lovely to see you on camera and if you're feeling brave you can answer a question, but you don't have to.
I'd love to see you there tomorrow. Camera on or off, it doesn't matter.
