2007-2010 Student midwife at De Montfort University Leicester: worked within consultant led units, a small stand alone birth center 25 minutes from medical support, and in a variety of community settings.

NB: Leicester is predicted to be Europe’s first plural city i.e. one with no ethnic majority, making it a highly diverse city in which to train.

Areas I have worked in:
Midwifery Led Unit: This is currently my assigned area. I undertake low risk care including: aiding with informal parentcraft when showing clients around; antenatal checks; low risk intrapartum care; sonicaid auscultation of fetal heart; non-pharmacological pain relief including mobilization, use of birth pools; births; identification for transfer into high risk care; perineal repair with some supervision; neonatal checks and observations; breastfeeding support; postnatal checks; appropriate documentation and discharge home.
Maternity Inpatients Ward: I worked on this ward for 5 months post qualification. Care included: full antenatal care of clients with medical or obstetric complications for example diabetes or antepartum haemorrhage; teaching pregnancy related health care for instance diet; collaborating with the medical and other hospital or external teams; complex postnatal care for instance post caesarean; breastfeeding support; neonatal checks and cares; discharge home of clients with ongoing medical or social needs.
Delivery Suite: Care I give includes: CTG interpretation; complex antenatal care for pre-eclampsia or other high risk complications; epidurals and/or augmentation; complex intrapartum care for women with for instance diabetes or vaginal birth after caesarean section; induction of labour; participation in obstetric emergencies; assistance with instrumental births, in theater; recovery of clients post theater; complex post-partum care; application of low risk labour care principles for instance mobilization where appropriate.

Personal Interests:

**It almost goes without saying - but please don't just add your name and hand this CV in. At best, it will not give an idea of your personality or history, and come across as fake. At worst it will be recognised at plagiarism; between 10-20 people look at this particular CV every day so it won't be hard for your prospective employer to find it as well.
